It has been about a month since our (my) last post – which seems to be pretty on par with our blogging schedule. Here’s the latest!
Katie and I got married!
We honeymooned in San Francisco!
That’s right, Katie and I tied the knot on April 14 in Austin. We had about 100 people share the day with us, and everything was perfect. Well, there could have been more water in Lake Travis, but other than that, everything went off without with a hitch. The pictures are still being processed and uploaded to Facebook, but once we get some good ones, we’ll be sure to throw a few up here.
Now on to the fun part, we went to San Francisco! Neither of us had been there before, so we decided that would be a fun place to explore together. Boy, were we right! It was definitely a fun place, but we both agreed that we wouldn’t want to live there.
As usual, we planned everything that we wanted to do around the food we were going to eat. We went to Knuckles on the Wharf (inside the Hyatt hotel), Sam’s Grill & Seafood, Luigi’s Pizzeria, and our favorite, Forbe’s Island. The restaurant was on an island and the seating area was actually underwater (with portholes and everything!). The menu was pretty pricey, but with the 3 courses and several drinks we consumed, the $200 bill was TOTALLY worth it.
Some of our adventures included a wine tour of the Sonoma and Napa Valleys, a self-guided tour of Alcatraz, visiting the California Academy of Sciences, Exploratorium, walking and shopping on Fisherman’s Wharf, the Wax Museum, Golden Gate bridge, and seeing the historical ships on Pier 39.
Overall, it was a great time. Katie and I were able to do everything we wanted to do in the 4.5 days that we were in the city, all by way of public transportation! If you’re looking for a reasonably cost vacation, we highly recommend it! Pictures below!
